Mrs. Magic

My dear Mrs Magic

Was plain as a cucumber

She wasn’t terribly pretty

But she wasn’t unfine either

Her life was terribly boring

With her boring little habits

And her boring little quirks

She didn’t think too hard

But she wasn’t thoughtless either

She would get mad for the silliest things

And I found her to be kind where most wouldn’t

Mrs Magic wasn’t hurt

Nor had she an invulnerable heart

I have seen her tearing up

I have seen her standing tall and proud

But people like to care too little

Or they care too much

Between their boundless obsession

And their ceaseless ignorance

They never noticed Mrs Magic

They were scared of her normalcy I think

For all of us trying to find steady ground

She looked like she had it figured out

For a world so against boredom

They haven’t realized how tedious they’ve been

The answer isn’t in a house in the woods

Nor in the edges of space time continuum

It’s somewhere in ourselves

The scariest part of the world

Her most wonderous sorcery is how

She found peace in this chaos

Isn’t it the most enigmatic thing of all?

That is why she seemed like magic

That is why I loved her so

Oh, how I loved her so!

But just like magic

She was forever elusive

A miracle never to be held

My dear, Mrs Magic
